Our church
Welcome to the Website of St John’s Anglican Church, Ainsdale.
St John’s is situated in Ainsdale village a few miles south of Southport and is part of the Church of England, belonging to the Diocese of Liverpool.
Our Church is one which aims to nurture people in the Christian faith and to bring the love of Christ to those in our Community. This is shown both by the variety of Church worship styles that we offer to people each week and also in the many social events, community services and various activities for all ages that our members are involved in. There really is something for everyone at St. John’s!
We moved back into our Church in November 2017, having completed a 6-year building redevelopment scheme for both the Church building and the Church Hall. As a result of this, we now have a wonderful worship space as well as wonderful modern facilities which enable us to hold many other social events as well. Our Church building is now open every day of the week for all sorts of activities and is a Church which is truly at the heart of our community. The congregation have worked tirelessly to raise the incredible amount of over £600,000 to enable this development scheme to be competed (that’s why it took us 6 years to complete!) and everyone agrees that it has been well worth the effort!
Our team at St. John’s have felt wonderfully privileged to see the dedication and commitment of the congregation at our church to this redevelopment scheme, as the easy option of just doing the necessary repairs and replacing the old roof would have cost us less than half of what we ended up spending. To us this shows not only their dedication to the fundraising effort, but also their commitment to the community we are called to serve. This continuing commitment also means that you can be assured of a very warm welcome here - whenever you join us for worship or for a social gathering - and we're not talking about the underfloor heating!
We hope that you will enjoy exploring our website to find out a little bit more about us and that you will feel that you’d like to come along and meet us at some time in the near future.
