Dear friends,

Happy Easter! Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.   Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

It was wonderful to gather again to worship in church and to greet each other.  It felt fitting that we opened for worship on Easter Day, a day when we celebrate the risen Lord Jesus, and we renew our baptismal vows, reminding us that we died to sin and rose to a new life in Christ.

As we come out of lockdown we are prayerfully discerning what God is calling us to focus on as a church and in our community.  We have some vacancies coming up on PCC so please pray that God calls you, or someone you know to come forward to be part of PCC.

Or is God calling you to use your gifts in other ways?  Do get in touch with me to explore this.

Services in church

Sunday 10am Holy Communion Common Worship

Wednesday 10.30am Holy Communion Book of Common Prayer

(Please note we start Wed 14 April as we have a funeral in church Wednesday 7th April)

You will need to book a place by contacting Lesley Phipps by mobile 07779 018115.

We will also be continuing with online services on YouTube for the time being.

We give thanks for our vaccine programme in the UK which contributes to keeping us safe and well.  You may want to support the Unicef led Vaccinaid campaign to fund jabs around the world. The campaign offers people practical ways to give thanks for their Covid-19 vaccination, by making a voluntary donation to help pay for jabs for others around the world through the global COVAX initiative.

Donations can be left in the church porch each Monday from 12 to 1pm.

For your prayers

Audrey Delaney’s funeral is Wednesday 7th April at 11.30 in church.

Sylvia Cottrell’s funeral is Friday 9th April at 11am in church.

Please pray for their families and friends at this sad time and may they know the peace that the promise of eternal life brings.

Stay safe and be assured of my prayers.

God of Life,

who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son

to the death of the cross,

and by his glorious resurrection

have delivered us from the power of our enemy:

grant us so to die daily to sin,

that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his risen life;

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

With my love and blessings,
