Dear friends,

As we move nearer to coming out of the restrictions of the pandemic and many people receiving vaccines itís heartening to see activities opening up and more people out and about.  Itís a blessing to be in church and I pray that your own situation will enable you to feel more confident to join us in worship as we have created such a safe space to gather. Some of the temporary things we put in place during lockdown will be changing as we strive to adapt to the relaxation of the restrictions in a gradual way and manage competing demands on our time.

I have attached Morning Prayer and I encourage you to look at the Cof E website for daily prayer as in the near future I will not be sending out the readings.

Christian Aid Week 10-16 May

Did you know Christian Aid is 75 years old this year?

Christian Aid grew out of the need to support desperate refugees following World War 2. For 75 years Christian Aid has provided humanitarian relief and long term development support for communities battling poverty worldwide, while highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing peopleís rights.

And yet today we face one of our greatest challenges of all Ė the climate crisis.  As we contemplate how climate change impacts us, Christian Aid reminds us that many of our sisters and brothers around the world are being pushed to the brink of survival by the climate crisis.  As Christians, we are inspired to help build the kingdom of God through giving, acting and praying,

A few of us are once again taking on the 300,000 step sponsored challenge by promising to walk 10,000 steps per day in May.

We know this is quite a commitment so we are asking you to "do it your way". You might like to walk around your garden, like Captain Tom did, or do a sponsored skip, or swim, cake bake challenge, sponsored silence or create your own personal challenge. Whatever you do, every £1 raised will go towards helping save lives.  If you want to take part in the sponsored walk or your own sponsored activity or just want information or inspiration, can you let Eirlys know? (Tel 576563 eirlysjessop@gmail.com).

Harvey Barton died 29th April, may he rest in peace.  Please pray for his family and friends at this sad time and may they know the peace that the promise of eternal life brings.

Stay safe and be assured of my prayers.

God of love,
turn our hearts to your ways;
and give us peace.
Amen

With my love and blessings,

Jane
