St John’s Church Ainsdale Care Group
Our CARE Group started in 2002 with the purpose of bringing together a group of ordinary members of the congregation who could assist the clergy in the pastoral work by visiting people in the parish of all ages and in any kind of need.
Members of the Care Group visit sick people at home and in hospital, take communion to the housebound and people in nursing homes. We speak to people by telephone if someone wants to talk but does not want a face to face visit.
We also have a prayer circle where members can contact one another if people approach them with prayer requests, so many people are praying for those in need.
Members of the Care group have taken part in training for Dementia Awareness and Bereavement support and have completed safeguarding training.
