Funerals

One of the reasons why people decide against a Church funeral can be because they feel that there may not be many people attending the funeral and that the space inside the Church will be too large. Here at St John’s, however, we removed the church pews as part of reordering works some time ago and, as a result of this, it is now possible for us to set out the Church in a variety of ways depending on the expected number of people. This gives us the advantage that we can still conduct small funerals in Church but also provide an ‘intimate feel’ when there are not a large number of mourners attending.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Parish Secretary who will be happy to discuss your requirements.  We have a team that can advise you on what services we can offer and if you are one of those organised people who may be in the process of planning your own funeral in advance, so that this process is made a little easier for your family when the time comes. This will ensure that the service is just as you would desire it to be and also provide help and comfort to your family.
